Burks Taking the Hurt Out of Windmill Punch This track will provide the student with information that will help them learn about drinking water treatment, determine how water came to be recognized as a factor in disease outbreaks, how domestic water supplies are treated, and extensions of various kinds that are associated with drinking water treatment. 
Dwight McHazlett Water Conservation This Track will allow students to research, design, follow and evaluate a water conservation plan. 
Debra Duffy A roach is a roach is a roach... There is a learning (work) sheet provided which will allow students to study various types of roaches,- including South Texas natives and visiting Madagascan Hissers. 
Jeff Duffy Courtyard Classroom, You be the Judge This lesson will describe the shortcomings/difficulties of traditional field trips and examine the advantages and
disadvantages of creating an on-site microenvironment on campus. 
Cheryl Frazier Endangered Species of Central Texas Students will be introduced to the Endangered Species Act (ESA).  Students will research endangered species of Texas (Hill Country), what factors contributed to their listing, and what people can do to help in their recovery. Students will also develop a final product. 
John Harbison Soil Erosion in East Texas These 3 lessons acquaint students in middle and high school with the problems and solutions involved with soil erosion in East Texas. 
Nancy Hayter Is our school air sick? How can we improve our air?
Sick School Buildings --- Don't Breathe too Deeply
Grade 7 students will learn how to investigate air quality of their school. Students will produce a lab report using the scientific method. They will create a checklist to see if the building is sick, then they will select a solution to improve the air quality. 
Judy King Whole Health of a River This lesson which is intended for grade 8 students deals with the quality of the river as well as its surroundings. The students will be doing testing and collecting.  The results will be used for an end of the year in a final scientific paper written on the whole health of the river. 
Marca Morris Water Quality in Underground Wells Students will orientate themselves with the properties and makeup of water. They will also be introduced to chemicals and/or impurities found in water. Finally, students will test the water and compare with current known standards. 
Randy Ridgway Effects of excess nitrates on organisms Students will learn what are the detrimental consequences of the over use of nitrogen based fertilizers on organisms. 
Davida Starkey Basic Atomic Structure 8th grade science students will learn how matter is composed of atoms, and learn about the structure of atoms.  Students will also have the opportunity to construct a model of an atom. 
Susan Terry Affect of the drought in our area Student will research the effects of a drought on the water quality, plant and animal life.  Students need to make a   hypothesis and research the answers to various questions.

Polution Solutions
This lesson is designed for 6-8 grade students to understand the problems associated with pollution. 
Students will look at methods of detecting pollution problems, and will come up with suggestions for correcting the problem.
