| Your job as the company's chemical engineer is to select solvents that will do the job (dissolve the polymer). However, you must select the solvents that are safest to use. In the following activity you will be given a series of polymers to be dissolved. For each polymer, use the graph supplied to plot the solubility of the polymer in the solvents listed. Then select the safest solvent by consulting the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for those solvents you have found to be effective in dissolving the assigned polymer. | ||||
