| Proteins are
needed to make structures in the cell and to serve in a variety of
ways as signaling molecules. The making of protein is directed by the
genes on chromosomes inside the cell nucleus.
Outside the nucleus, protein is constructed by several "manufacturing" steps, beginning in the organelle known as the ribosome and ending in the organelle known as the Golgi complex.. |
