In this activity, students will shop for and purchase food items to make a Thanksgiving dinner. There are two versions of this activity, one for 5th grade and one for 6th grade. The 5th grade version deals with multiplication and addition of decimals, while the 6th grade version deals with calculating the price of items when given a percent off or a tax. After students shop for their food, they will make a Thanksgiving table to put heir feast on.
I am looking for a fun seasonal activity for the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays. My 6th grade students are studying percents, and my 5th grade students are studying decimals.
