Title: Great Depression Stock Market Activity
Description: In this activity, students will participate in a simplified, simulated stock market which is set up to crash. The objective of this activity is to make students understand the stock market crash of 1929 better and to identify its causes and effects, leading to a better understanding of the Great Depression.

Teacher's Request: Westward Expansion into the Dustbowl Era Seventh and eighth graders focus on the early settlement of Texas from perspectives of indigenous people, as well as from Spanish, Anglo, & other viewpoints. The Great Depression topic allows students to interview survivors of that time period and to read/write about people who persevered great obstacles. An activity would be helpful
