Title: Fraction Circles: Dividing by Fractions
Description: In this activity, the students are introduced to dividing a whole number by a fraction. The main goal is for the students to see that when dividing by a fraction, the resulting value is BIGGER than divisor and the dividend. Then, the students identify that multiplication normally gives us bigger values and the students will actually see why it is that we “flip the divisor and multiply”.
Key Words: fractions, division
Grade Level: 6th, 7th
Subject: Math
