These 2 activities focus on cartography and topography. In the "Cartographer for a Day" activity, students build a playdoh model of a mountain and make a map of it. In the "Modeling Faults" activity, they build a 3D paper diagram to show faults below the surface.
I need a lesson that students can understand faulting as well as topographic maps. Earth science is tough for our students especially the concept of faulting because they haven't seen it before.
