Title: Creating a Squares Booklet
Description: This hands-on activity helps students bridge the gap between the geometric and arithmetic meaning of the square of a number. Students create booklets illustrating all the squares of numbers from one to twenty. Not only does this serve as a great reference when working with squares, but when students must calculate square roots later on, the booklet proves to be especially useful.
Key Words: Squares, Square Roots, Geometry
Grade Level: 7th, 8th
Subject: Math

Teacher's Request: I need a hands-on activity to help my students visualize what the square of a number is. A reference tool would be great! Thanks!
