Title: Airplane Toss
Description: This activity allows the kids to have fun practicing adding and subtracting decimals. They break up into teams and build paper airplanes. Then they participate in a tournament where each team throws an airplane three times. In each throw, they have to measure the distance in feet and inches and then record the distance as a decimal. At the end, they have to add three distance recordings and subtract the sum from the sum of the team they are playing against. The team with the larger sum wins the match.
Key Words: adding, subtracting, decimals
