Title: Charged up!
Description: This is an inquiry activity designed to demonstrate to the students the relationship between pH, ions, charges, and conductivity. Students will test various household products with a simple circuit setup and will be able to explore the connection between chemistry and electricity.

Teacher's Request: Need an activity to demonstrate that everyday items can conduct electricity and that this has to do with chemical composition of the things being tested.
   

 

The PEER Program is composed of three grants entitled "GK-12 Fellows Integrate Science/Math in Rural Middle Schools", "Integrating Environmental Health Science in Rural Schools," and a Science Education Partnership Award (SEPA) entitled "Science Promotion in Rural Middle Schools".
